What’s inside

The complete routine of a preventive maintenance visit, in the order it is done: first you watch the lift running, then you inspect it stopped and made safe, and finally you check it is back in normal service. No brands: valid for any traction installation.

  • 10 steps with who does it, PPE and what to check.
  • Pit and car roof: STOP first, then INSPECTION, never the other way round.
  • Guide rails and guide shoes: lubricate only when needed and spot wear in time.
  • Call button pilot lights: periodic check every 4–6 months.
  • A/B/C faults, records and a table of bad practices.
  • One-page final checklist to print.

Who it’s for

Lift service technicians, improvers starting out and small companies that want a clear, orderly procedure. Structured according to ISO 9001 quality management principles (document control, records, continual improvement). It does not replace the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions or local regulations.

⚠️ Safety first

  • Lift maintenance is carried out only by qualified, authorised personnel.
  • Before entering the pit or the car roof: STOP first, then inspection mode, and check the lift no longer answers calls.
  • Lock out before any electrical work; never bridge the safety circuit.
  • If people are trapped, rescue comes first and is done by trained personnel.
